Where are Moon Groves products made?
Everything is designed and handmade in our workshop at The Clay Factory in Ivybridge, Devon, at the foot of Dartmoor. Nothing is outsourced — every piece is laser cut and engraved in-house by us.
Who is the laser workshop in Ivybridge?
Moon Groves is the laser cutting and engraving workshop at Units RL19-20 (formerly Unit 1A), David's Lane, The Clay Factory, Redlake Trading Estate, Ivybridge, PL21 0EZ. WhatsApp 07790 942348. Open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Wednesdays until 8pm. We cut and engrave with a professional CO₂ laser on wood, plywood, reclaimed slate, Italian leather, acrylic, Corian, glass, and anodised or powder-coated metal, and our new fibre laser marks bare stainless steel and other metals (orders taken now, made from late October). We serve the South Hams, Dartmoor and Plymouth, Devon, and ship UK-wide.
Can I personalise my order?
Yes — almost everything we make is personalised. Add names, dates, wording, or even your own logo or artwork, and we'll craft it to order just for you.
Will I see my design before it's made?
Always. We send a free digital artwork proof for your approval before we cut or engrave anything, so you can check every detail first.
What materials do you work with?
We engrave and cut a wide range of materials including solid wood, plywood, reclaimed slate, Italian leather, acrylic, Corian and anodised or powder-coated metal. Our new fibre laser also marks bare stainless steel and other metals, including colour marking on stainless steel and titanium. Metal orders on the fibre laser are taken now and made from late October. If you have something specific in mind, just ask.
How long will my order take?
As every item is made to order, turnaround varies depending on the piece and the complexity of your design. We'll confirm timings when we send your digital artwork proof.
Do you make custom or one-off pieces?
Absolutely — bespoke work is what we love most. Whether it's a single keepsake or branded signage for your business, send us your idea via our contact page and we'll quote it for you.
Can you produce business and trade signage?
Yes. We make engraved logo signs, commercial plaques, QR-code signs and larger bespoke signage for shops, cafés, offices and tradespeople across Devon and beyond.

What are your delivery and returns policies?

How do I care for my engraved item?
Keep wooden and slate pieces out of prolonged direct moisture; an occasional wipe with a dry or lightly oiled cloth keeps timber looking good. Outdoor signs are finished for durability, but a little care will extend their life. For marked metal items, hand wash in warm, soapy water, dry them, and keep them out of the dishwasher and away from scourers.
Can I bring my own glass / wood / walking stick?
Yes. Bring your own glass, wood, or walking stick and we will advise what we can mark. Send us a clear photo on WhatsApp first if you are unsure — 07790 942348.
What metals can / cannot you mark?
Our CO₂ laser marks anodised and powder-coated metal, as it always has. Our new fibre laser marks bare stainless steel, and can usually mark aluminium, brass and titanium too, though finishes vary. Colour marking works on stainless steel and titanium, and not on other metals. Fibre laser orders are taken now and made from late October. Send a photo or sample, or message us for a quote, and we will confirm before we start.
Can I collect at The Clay Factory?
Yes. Collection is welcome at The Clay Factory. See our Contact page for hours (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Wednesdays until 8pm) and the full address. The site has secure gates, so please message us on WhatsApp 07790 942348 before visiting or collecting.
